Survey

1. Are you aware of any drainage issues surrounding this project?

Ø  Back Yard: 2401 McKinley Ct.

Ø  NE side of Kasold Curve must drain correctly

Ø  Near the curve, the creek has experienced flash flooding in the recent past

Ø  If not properly done, graded, that the water will flood or collect toward the 3015 building

Ø  Near 26th & glacier there are two sewer drains-They would have to remain

Ø  Old spring in the middle of west lane on Kasold at 24th St.

Ø  Possibly a few more storm drains to help with heavy rains

Ø  House at end of 24th Pl has runoff problem

Ø  2717 Meadow Pl has sump pump in basement.  City lowered my drain pipe into street sewer drain due to icy in winter months.  Are they going to change that?  I have the only basement in subdivision.

Ø  Need more drainage off roadway the nearer you get to the curve

Ø  On the curve of 31st and Kasold; cul-de-sac on Bryce Ct; area in the flood plain east of Kasold

Ø  Cul-de-sac has drainage problems for some of the neighbors at the end, especially the houses not on the hill.  24th St. floods after the large rains

Ø  South of Aldrich Ct. a ditch fills during heavy rains and the street floods at 28th & Winterbrook Dr.

Ø  The bridge over the creek can flood the roadway, i.e. 1993.  Given current excess summer rain, there might be heavy spring rains too.

Ø  2512 Lazy Brook Ln.-There is a drainage problem from 25th St. and the Bike Path to my back yard and the yard next to me, she had to dig a ditch to take care of the water.

Ø  621 Country Club Terr.-I would be glad to meet you and go over this.  I was President of SPT Assoc. for 10 yrs (1995-2005). We had a problem & George Williams helped us with it as much as he could.

Ø  Road and sidewalk construction should not result in drainage into abutting properties (especially regarding the driveways on 24th Place).

Ø  We believe there are natural springs causing chuckholes.

Ø  3300 W 25th St.,-Both Kasold and 25th Street are elevated above my property.  This has caused rain water to run off toward my house leaving water to pond near the southwest corner.

Ø  Just north of the creek on the west side of Kasold also, the creek can run really high during torrential rains.

2. Do you have any concerns specific to your property that we should know about for the final design phase?

Ø  2401 McKinley Ct.-would like a retaining wall for drainage and it would be nice to put up new fencing along the road.

Ø  3006 Atchison Way-Repair dip by fire hydrant due to poor waterline installs.

Ø  2403 Bryce Ct. needs to be notified if water will be shut off!

Ø  3500 Clinton Pl. (LMH South)-only 1 entrance to medical facility and patients will need access; open 6 am-6 pm; high traffic volume; sleep lab 24 hours, 5 days, M-F.

Ø  Would appreciate having access assured to Havrone Way.

Ø  3028 Havrone Way-we frequently have unwanted foot traffic thru our property.  Sidewalks along the curve & enhanced lighting are very important to me.

Ø  Firework stand operates in south pasture July 1-4.

Ø  Entering the property at 3000 Havrone Way & exiting. Can you consider a 2nd entrance on SE side of property?

Ø  3402 W 24th Pl.-I have a dog that needs to be fenced in and my fence attaches to the city fence and will need to have notice so I can remove my parts, it is screwed together so it will come apart.

Ø  3406 W 24th Pl.-Emergency access, personal access

Ø  2717 Meadow Place-just the sump pump problem.

Ø  Will people living on Yellowstone Dr. be able to turn left off Kasold onto Yellowstone?  The speed limit should be 30 mph, people drive much too fast on Kasold!

Ø  Just added traffic this will cause.

Ø  2729 Meadow Pl.-Would like street light moved to the intersection south of my lot.  Careful of the fence; it is owned and maintained by the Meadows Place Homeowners Assn.

Ø  Kids must safely be able to cross Kasold when this project is completed.  It is unsafe now!

Ø  You are now going to be some 30 – 40’ from the master bedroom of 3319 Rainier, think we are going to need something else to help control noise.

Ø  3401 W 24th Pl.-Our trees.  And don’t have construction result in water runoff into our property, such as down our driveway into the house.

Ø  3406 Lazy Brook Ln.-We don’t want a wall that blocks our view of Kasold.

Ø  3300 W 25th St.-If any construction will be done on the corner of 25th St. and Kasold I would like to see if anything can be done to resolve the run off of water toward my house leaving water to pond near the southwest corner.

3. Please describe any other concerns related to this project that you may have:

Ø  Need easy access for emergency vehicles.

Ø  Lower the hill in the road at 24th St., better view site at this intersection.

Ø  2401 McKinley Ct.-the blind hill right outside of my property is a serious concern.

Ø  3500 Clinton Pl.-Traffic congestion; willing to close a few evenings to facilitate entrance being completed quickly; must have traffic control when entrance down to 1 lane unless done at night.

Ø  Hope the plantings, trees and white fence will be preserved that are owned by the condo association and that the access road will be left in good shape when the project is completed.

Ø  3028 Havrone Way-Concerned about having clear access to property during the project, will be having a baby in early April and concerned about making it to the hospital and safely transporting baby in and out of the property.

Ø  3033 Kasold-Concerned with access to fireworks stand located on the SW corner next to the red brick house from July 1-4.

Ø  There needs to be more lighting at the entrance of Havrone Way and around the curve, extremely dark with little visibility as you exit and enter 3000 Havrone Way.

Ø  Please put dust barriers.

Ø  3402 W. 24th Pl-Would like to have my yard returned to a good condition, unlike the last time.  Would like lighting down the center of the roadway, right turn lane for northbound Kasold at 23rd and re-striping of stop lines and crosswalks at 23rd & Kasold.

Ø  Recommend a right turn only lane at Kasold & 23rd St., to free up congestion

Ø  Need a way to get to and from 27th St. and Meadow Dr., this is the only way to get in and out.  Would like to see a round-a-bout at 31st & Kasold.  Would like to see speed reduced from 23rd to 31st.

Ø  Enable pedestrian traffic (sidewalks) around the curve.

Ø  Hill on Kasold is a hazard for people going north, turning left onto 24th St.

Ø  Speed limit is too high.  24th Pl. needs access; we are a cul-de-sac without any egress except Kasold.  A way for pedestrians to cross the street.  Sidewalk on the east side of the curve.

Ø  Added traffic to Winterbrook Dr.; it’s already an access road for west of Kasold to cut through to go to south part of town.  If it is an outlet we want added police patrol for speeders.

Ø  Please ensure that route is open to through traffic during construction.

Ø  2729 Meadow Pl.-Widening Kasold may increase the volume and speed of traffic.  There have been numerous accidents at the intersections that are not perfect squares.  With the road closer to my backyard, I’m concerned about cars driving into houses.  Right turn lane at Clinton Pkwy & Kasold to turn east on Clinton Pkwy.  Right turn lane at 1200 Rd. to head south to 10 HWY.  There should be no “thru traffic” during this project.  The neighborhoods to the west do not have the street quality to withstand the type of traffic that travels on Kasold daily.  Need safe routes to access almost inaccessible homes during construction, including school buses-have you talked with USD 497?  It will affect their bus costs.

Ø  We all must work together to make it happen and make sure we leave it so it doesn’t hurt too many families.

Ø  The expense, when so many streets need it more.  But of course Kasold south has become a “highway.”

Ø  If it had been done right the first time we wouldn’t be spending money needed elsewhere to do it again.

Ø  Since the waling trail is on the west side of Kasold anyone living on the east side must cross 4 lanes of traffic to access it.  Anyone crossing Kasold must cross 40 mph traffic risking their safety, in the future there will be five lanes.

Ø  2404 Sequoia Ct.-In favor of having the hill reduced between 25th St. and 24th Ter., this sight distance is very dangerous at present.

Ø  Save crossing to bike trails, a median would help.  A sign facing south on Kasold before the curve, warning of turning traffic on/off of Atchison Ave.

Ø  Providing safe crossing from north or east to the south or west side.  The lighting around the curve itself isn’t that great.
