RE:               Bid date for new siding installation on the Landscape Division Shop

Please include the following item on the City Commission agenda for consideration at the November 3rd, 2009 meeting:

Set a bid opening date of November 24, 2009, for installation of new siding and insulation on the Landscape Division Shop

Project Description

The City of Lawrence Parks and Recreation Department requests bidding for the installation of new siding and insulation on the Landscape Division shop at 1110 Haskell. The existing metal siding is leaking during hard rains. This has caused the insulation inside the building to mold. This project will include removal of the old siding and insulation from the outside of the building. Followed by the installation of new insulation, windows, siding and trim on the entire exterior of the building. This project will also make the facility more energy efficient.

Open bids:              November 24, 2009

Award Contract:       December 1, 2009

Notice to Proceed:    December 2, 2009

Project Completion:  December 31, 2009

Project Funding

This project will be funded out of the Sales Tax Reserve fund.

Action Request

The City of Lawrence Parks and Recreation Department staff requests approval from the City Commission to set a bid date of November 24th, 2009, for the siding project at the Landscape Division shop.
