License agreement between the City of Lawrence and Bauer Farm Development Group (Free State Holdings, Inc.)

Please include the following item on the City Commission consent agenda for consideration at the October 13th, 2009 meeting:
Bauer Farm Development (Free State Holdings, Inc.) has submitted a request through a license agreement to place private business markers on the City of Lawrence’s right of way. The location of the signs will be on the roundabout at Bauer Farm Drive and Champion Lane and on the bridge on Champion Lane. (See attached map).
The Public Works, Planning and Legal Departments have reviewed the request and solicited input from all users of the right of way. All users have agreed to allow the sign to be placed in the right of way as outlined in the license agreement.
The license agreement indemnifies the City of Lawrence and gives the City of Lawrence the right to have the sign removed or relocated if the sign interferes with future right of way activities.
Action Request. Authorize the City Manager to execute and approve a license agreement between the City of Lawrence and Bauer Farm Development (Free State Holdings, Inc.)
