RE:	2008 CIPP Project - Phase II, Project UT0811: Change Order No.1

Please include the following item on the City Commission Agenda for consideration at the September 15, 2009 meeting:

Approval of Change Order No. 1 to the construction contract with I-Con Underground, LLC for 2008 CIPP Project - Phase II, Project UT0811 increasing the contract amount by $48,755 for the Sanitary Sewer Rehabilitation associated with the Oread Inn Project.

Project Description

The TDD agreement for the Oread Inn Public Improvements included the rehabilitation of the sanitary sewer lines from 12^th Street to 9^th Street. See attached map. At the time of the TDD agreement, this work was estimated as a stand alone project at $66,720.00. Staff requested a quote from I-Con Underground under the pricing from the Utility Department’s 2008 Yearly Contract. The quote received is for $48,755.00.

Utilities staff is evaluating the funding that is available for the 2009 CIPP project and does not believe a 2009 contract will be approved to meet the schedule of the Oread Inn project.

Project Funding: 

This project will be funded out of the Department of Utilities non-bonded construction fund to be reimbursed by the Oread Inn project per the TDD agreement.

Action Request:  Utilities staff requests approval of Change Order No. 1 to the construction contract with I-Con Underground, LLC for 2008 CIPP Project - Phase II, Project UT0811 increasing the contract amount by $48,755 for the Sanitary Sewer Rehabilitation associated with the Oread Inn Project.
