RE:	426 Perry Street, unsafe structure

The City Commission adopted resolution No. 6845 on July 21, 2009, setting a public hearing date of September 8, 2009, for the discussion of the dilapidated house located at 426 Perry Street.  It is staff’s professional opinion that the severe deterioration of the house over many years has created a structure that is unsafe and/or dangerous.

It is staff’s recommendation that a resolution be adopted ordering the property owner to repair or remove the structure within 30 days.  Should the owner fail to successfully fulfill the requirements of the resolution, the city would have the authority to take the necessary actions to remove the structure.

Attached documents related to this matter include the memorandum outlining the inspection of the property and those findings, pictures which identify the deteriorated conditions and the resolution to declare the structure as unsafe and/or dangerous.
