ORDINANCE NO.  8457

AN ORDINANCE ALLOWING THE POSSESSION AND CONSUMPTION OF ALCOHOLIC BEVERAGES ON CERTAIN CITY PROPERTY PURSUANT TO SECTION 4-105 OF THE CODE OF THE CITY OF LAWRENCE, KANSAS PURSUANT TO A SIDEWALK DINING AND HOSPITALITY LICENSE FOR JO SHMO’S, 724 MASSACHUSETTS STREET.

BE IT ORDAINED BY THE GOVERNING BODY OF THE CITY OF LAWRENCE, KANSAS:

Section 1.        From and after the effective date of this ordinance, the possession and consumption of alcoholic beverages is permitted in the public right of way described as follows:  

West 5.7’ and north 19’ of the Massachusetts Street right-of-way adjacent to the north 1/2 of Lot 34 on Massachusetts Street, original townsite in the City of Lawrence, in Douglas County, Kansas.

all pursuant to Section 4-105 of the Code of the City of Lawrence, Kansas, 2009 Edition. Provided, that the possession and consumption of alcoholic beverages on the above described property shall be pursuant to all applicable State and City laws, including but not limited to the requirements of the sidewalk dining and hospitality license granted for the property.

Section 2.         This ordinance shall be effective from and after its publication as provided by law.
