RESOLUTION NO. 6841

A RESOLUTION RATIFYING THE LAWRENCE JOURNAL WORLD AS THE OFFICIAL NEWSPAPER OF THE CITY OF LAWRENCE.

WHEREAS, the Lawrence Journal World is a newspaper published at least weekly 50 times a year and has been published for at least one year prior to the adoption of this resolution; and

WHEREAS, the Lawrence Journal World is entered at the post office as periodical class mail matter; and

WHEREAS, the Lawrence Journal World has general paid circulation on a daily, weekly, monthly or yearly basis in Douglas County, Kansas, and is not a trade, religious or fraternal publication; and

WHEREAS, the Lawrence Journal World is published in the City of Lawrence, Douglas County, Kansas.

NOW, THEREFORE, be it resolved by the Governing Body of the City of Lawrence, Kansas.

The Lawrence Journal World is hereby designated the official newspaper for the City of Lawrence, and it shall remain so until such time as the Governing Body establishes a different official newspaper by resolution.

ADOPTED by the Governing Body of the City of Lawrence, Kansas, this _____ day of    _____, 2009.
