Please include the following item on the City Commission consent agenda for consideration at the July 7, 2009 meeting:
The Lawrence Country Club has submitted a request through a license agreement to place a private decorative black wrought iron security fence on the City of Lawrence’s right of way. The location of the fence will be on the SE corner of Rockledge Road and McDonald Drive, Exhibit A.
The Public Works Department and Legal Department have reviewed this request and solicited input from all users of that right of way. All users of the right of way are in agreement to allow Lawrence Country Club to place their fence within the right of way with provisions as outlined in the agreement in Exhibit B.
The license agreement indemnifies the City of Lawrence and gives the City of Lawrence the right to have the fence removed or relocated in the future if that fence interferes with future right of way activities.
Action Request. Authorize the Mayor to execute and approve the license agreement between the City of Lawrence and the Lawrence Country Club.
