Please include the following item on the City Commission consent agenda for consideration at the June 23rd, 2009 meeting:

Set a bid opening date of July 21, 2009, for Union Pacific Depot Roof Project

Project Description

City of Lawrence Parks and Recreation Department anticipates bidding the replacement of the roof shingles on the Historic Union Pacific Depot. We are working with the City’s Historic Resource Administrator to assure the project meets the requirement necessary for this historic structure. 

Project Schedule

Advertise for bids:     June 30, 2009

Pre-bid meeting         July 7, 2009

Open bids:               July 21, 2009

Award Contract:        July 28, 2009

Notice to Proceed:     August 3, 2009

Project Completion:    August 24, 2009

Project Funding

Project will be funded by the Sales Tax Reserve Fund.

Action Request

The City of Lawrence Parks and Recreation Department staff requests approval from the City Commission to set a bid date of July 21st, 2009, for the Union Pacific Depot Roof Project
