ONE (1) HEAVY DUTY TRUCK TRACTOR – Public Works – Bid#09030

Public Works Street Division requested bids for a heavy duty truck tractor.  It will be used to pull trailers hauling heavy duty tracked equipment and materials up to 85,500 lbs. three to four times a week.  This is an addition to the fleet and will provide a second truck tractor to haul heavy equipment for storm water maintenance.  It will also be used to provide a backup unit for snow removal. 

The low bid, an alternate bid from KC Freightliner, does not meet the transmission specifications required; therefore we recommend the second low bid from KC Freightliner meeting all specifications.  No local vendors bid on this equipment. 

This purchase was approved in the 2009 budgeting process.
