ORDINANCE NO. 8414

AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF LAWRENCE, KANSAS ALLOWING THE TEMPORARY SALE, POSSESSION, AND CONSUMPTION OF ALCOHOLIC LIQUOR ON CERTAIN SPECIFIED PUBLIC PROPERTY

BE IT ORDAINED BY THE GOVERNING BODY OF THE CITY OF LAWRENCE, KANSAS:

SECTION 1.  Pursuant to Code Section 4-105(E) of the Code of the City of Lawrence, Kansas, 2009 Edition, the prohibition of the sale, possession, and consumption of alcoholic liquor on public property shall not apply to south half of the 600 block of Massachusetts Street and the north half of the 700 block of Massachusetts Street; on Friday, July 3, 2009, between the hours of 5:00 p.m. and midnight, related to the Lawrence Convention & Visitors Bureau Street Sprint Bike Race provided the sale, possession and consumption are otherwise pursuant to City and State alcoholic beverage licensing laws and regulations.  

SECTION 2.  This Ordinance shall take effect and be in force from and after its adoption and publication as provided by law.
