RE:	Ord. No. 8405 – Certificates of Occupancy

Attached is Ordinance No. 8405 which requires the submission of inspection and testing reports required under National Fire Protection Agency Standard 99C to the Building Safety Division, along with a statement from the responsible facility authority, prior to the issuance of a certificate of occupancy for buildings or structures with medical gas piping systems and related systems.

The Plumbing Board met and reviewed the draft ordinance on Wed., May 20, 2009.  The plumbing board voted 4-0 to recommend the ordinance be passed by the City Commission.

The draft ordinance and a staff report are attached.

Action Requested:  Adopt on first reading, Ordinance No. 8405, if appropriate.
