ORDINANCE NO. 8401

AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF LAWRENCE, KANSAS ALLOWING THE SALE, POSSESSION, AND CONSUMPTION OF ALCOHOLIC LIQUOR ON CERTAIN SPECIFIED PUBLIC PROPERTY

BE IT ORDAINED BY THE GOVERNING BODY OF THE CITY OF LAWRENCE, KANSAS:

SECTION 1.  Pursuant to Code Section 4-105(E) of the Code of the City of Lawrence, Kansas, 2009 Edition, the prohibition of the sale, possession, and consumption of alcoholic liquor on public property shall not apply to the portions of the 700, 800, and 900 blocks of Massachusetts Street; and portions of 8^th and 9^th Streets between Vermont and New Hampshire Streets800 block of New Hampshire Street, on Saturday, July 4, 2009, between the hours of noon and 10:30 p.m., related to the Lawrence Convention & Visitors provided the sale, possession and consumption are otherwise pursuant to City and State alcoholic beverage licensing laws and regulations.  

SECTION 2.  This Ordinance shall take effect and be in force from and after its adoption and publication as provided by law.
