    Reason for purchase: Unit #540 is an old rear loader that is no longer functional. The Division has determined that the greatest need for this new unit is for a front loader instead of an additional rear loader.  Two hook-lift trucks and two roll-off trucks were also budgeted for replacement but the Division has determined at this time that only one or each needs to be replaced.  Therefore we wish to defer the replacement of one hook-lift and one roll-off and instead replace Unit #540 with a front loader. The total replacement amount budgeted for those two deferred units is $216,000 which is more than the estimated replacemt cost of Unit #540 estimated to be $198,000.
