Commissioners and Mr. Corliss:  We're all aware of the upcoming Maple Leaf Square (Doolittle) applications.  Some or all of you have been contacted by constituents and/or have been invited to view plans and hear opinions.  If any of you are interested in talking to me personally about the proposal, prior to next Tuesday's meeting, I'm available at your convenience.

 

An array of unforeseeable challenges -- including a Staff interpretation that a variance is needed in order to provide a second access, five Staff recommendations for denial of our applications, a Staff interpretation that use of the Lesser Change Table (for our amended, down-zoned plan) requires a supermajority vote, a protest petition requiring a supermajority vote, and a most recent Staff interpretation that our amended plat may somehow be unsuitable for action by the Governing Body at this time -- will unfortunately require a sizeable effort on the part of the applicant.

 

Consequently, our presentation for Maple Leaf Square will be lengthy.  I haven't timed my talk, but I'm pretty sure we'll need between 40 and 50 minutes to present our points concerning this relatively quite modest project.  As usual, out of consideration for all involved, I will try to be upbeat and up tempo.
