Introductions.
The Board Members introduced themselves.
Approve the September 17, 2008 minutes.
Breithaupt made a motion to approve the minutes. Burd second the motion, the motion passed 3-0.
Hear from Mike Durst regarding CPVC.
Durst and Mondragon presented the Board with information on Lubrizol’s CPVC piping and fittings and were requesting a code change to allow the use of CPVC in the City. Mondragon discussed the qualities of their piping, Corzan and Flowguard Gold, and the installation practices.
Breithaupt asked if CPVC piping systems could be tested with air. Mondragon responded that it could not be tested with air and that it should be test hydraulically.
The Board asked to add the topic to the next meetings agenda to discuss further.
Durst and Mondragon thanked the Board for their time and asked to be notified of the Board’s decision on the requested code change. Staff informed Durst and Mondragon that they would be notified after the next meeting.
Discuss water heater inspections.
Breithaupt made the suggestion that the City look into the City of Topeka’s policies in regards to water heater permits. Breithaupt explained that Topeka did only random inspections of water heater due to the accessibility issues with home owners.
Staff informed the Board that self inspections were discussed by staff and was not an adequate resolution to the City’s water heater inspection procedure. Staff stated that alternatives would be discussed by staff to help alleviate the burden on contractors due to uncooperative home owners.
Staff added that this item will be on the next meeting agenda for more discussion.

With no new business Breithaupt made a motion to adjourn. Dillon second the motion to adjourn, the motion passed 3-0.
Dillon adjourned the meeting at 8:10 p.m.
