The City of Lawrence has of course watched with interest the development of the federal economic stimulus package. The City is hopeful that some of these funds will be utilized to serve our residents with local projects. We understand that at this time, these funds are not intended for the traditional “earmark,” or federal appropriations, process.

The City in the past has submitted federal appropriations requests through the offices of our congressional delegation. We respectfully request that as federal budget issues continue to evolve, your office would keep us informed of the deadlines, forms and other information relevant to the earmark process. Please direct such information to our city manager, David Corliss, at the address above or dcorliss@ci.lawrence.ks.us.
