Award Bid; Waterline Fittings – B09001 |
Please include the following item on the City Commission Agenda for consideration at the January 27, 2009 meeting.
Award bid B09001, tee and anchor coupling waterline fittings, to Ferguson Enterprises in an amount of $17,717.03.
Project History/Status:
The Utilities Department Waterline Replacement Program will replace 4” diameter and smaller waterlines using department pipe crews. Department staff has determined that 4” diameter and smaller waterlines are inadequate based on the size of pipe, inability to meet fire flow capacity, water quality and reliability due to age and type of material. The purchase of the necessary materials for the Waterline Replacement Program was planned as part of the CIP Project UT0812DS.
On November 18, 2008, bid B08087 was opened. It included fire hydrants, valves and waterline fittings. It was discovered the specification for the waterline fittings was incomplete. All bids submitted for the waterline fittings were rejected with the fire hydrants and valves awarded to the lowest and best bidders. The bid specification for waterline fittings was corrected and re-bid on January 13, 2009. The successful bidders were required to supply information on the materials bid to show compliance with the bid specifications. The low bidder for the waterline fittings met the specifications. A summary of the bids is included on the attached sheet.
Project Funding:
Project UT0812DS will be funded from the Utilities/Non-bonded Construction fund.
Action Request:
Staff recommends the award of the tee and anchor coupling waterline fittings to Ferguson Enterprises in an amount of $17,717.03
