Census data profile for Lawrence released

The Census Bureau has released its latest American Community Survey Three-Year Estimates for Lawrence. The demographic data set includes information on familial status, school enrollment, educational attainment, veteran status, disability status, place of birth, language, ancestry, race, employment, income, poverty, housing and other information about the Lawrence population.

Fuel use report and idling policy

Steve Stewart, Central Maintenance Garage superintendent, has prepared the attached report on City fuel use. The data reviewed indicate improvements in miles driven overall and increased fleet fuel mileage achieved by right-sizing vehicles. The Public Works Department currently has an anti-idling policy in place that will be expanded to all City departments effective February 1, 2009.
