Lawrence Parks and Recreation Department,

On behalf of the Douglas County Amateur Baseball Association we would like to express our thanks to the Lawrence Parks and Recreation Department and the city of Lawrence for assisting us (DCABA) in offering youth baseball for those kids 6 through 12 years of age for well over 35 years. The DCABA board of directors would like to relinquish it’s duties of administering this program in the future because of the time and commitment it takes to run this particular program at the level the community expects and deserves. 

The DCABA board would like to continue to provide assistance in an advisory role with the understanding the Lawrence Parks and Recreation will have the final say in any changes or additions to DCABA. If for some reason the Lawrence Parks & Recreation does not elect to take on the responsibility of administering this program the DCABA would like to have the option of continuing the program as it is currently run.

It is our preference the name of the association and the names of the leagues within it remain the same.

Leagues within the DCABA include:

U8 League                   8 & under        assigned by school (10 -12 teams 2 divisions, approx. 150 kids).

U9/U10 League            10 & under       team entry (8 – 10 teams, approx. 120 kids).

U11/U12 League          12 & under       team entry (8 – 10 teams, approx. 120 kids).
