On November 18, 2008,  the City of Lawrence opened proposals for the following:  

Bid#08088 – 2009 Water Treatment Chemicals – Utilities Department

Please see attached bid tab.

Utilities Department requested bids for water treatment chemicals for 2009.  All were based on the low bid including shipping.

Three times this year companies defaulted on their bids due to raw materials increases.  The City had to do emergency POs and rebid the chemicals.  The bid for 2009 chemicals was written so the City can review the price of the chemicals on a quarterly basis.  The City may adjust the price if the vendor provides proof from the manufacturers of an increase/decrease of more than 5% on raw materials.  

Recommendation Action:

Approve recommended bids as marked (*), (Utilities/Chemicals Fund)
