I Bonnie Lowe called the meeting to order at 7:30 a.m. with a quorum present.
II Public Comment: None.
III Consent Agenda: September 30, 2008 Minutes, June, July and August 2008 Financials and David’s CEO Report made up the Consent Agenda.
David explained the $120K loss in August should actually be $63K when considering the $36K Certified Match payment to the State (a remnant payment from the old system) and money due WRAP.
We’re “within a whisker of having the September financials.
David added to his written CEO Report information about the advantages of becoming a Federally Qualified Health Center.
ERV HODGES MOVED TO APPROVE THE CONSENT AGENDA; ELIZABETH SHEILS SECONDED THE MOTION. MOTION CARRIED.
IV Review & Comment. WRAP: There was some discussion about removing WRAP from the agenda. The Board agreed they would like to continue getting WRAP updates. Currently WRAP is in all Lawrence Junior High Schools and High Schools and in Eudora Elementary Schools and High School. Baldwin does not have WRAP this year. Bootsie volunteered to talk to the Baldwin School Superintendent.
Medicaid Update: Kansas Health Solutions has the Medicaid contract for three more years. This was unsuccessfully challenged by Cenpatico. Kansas Health Solutions and the Consortium merger is moving forward.
V Board Retreat, October 31. Carol Nalbandian will facilitate the retreat which will be held at the Eldridge Extended beginning with lunch at 12 noon and continuing until 5:00 p.m. Materials for the retreat will be mailed to the Governing Board this week. Jean Milstead, Jane Eldredge, Bonnie Lowe and David Johnson made up the Retreat Planning Committee.
Other: Our Licensing Site Visit is next week. The reviewers will focus on policies, charts and personnel files.
Over 100 folks have now completed the Mental Health First Air Training.
State Hospital census was discussed.
Heather Jones will present on the Principles of Supported Employment at the November Governing Board meeting.
