Dear David--   

    I'm wondering IF it would be possible to have a place on

the Agenda of next week's City Commission meeting to

discuss an alternative campsite for our homeless population.

Seventeen people were turned away from the Shelter

last night.   Many of us consider the razing of the camp-

site --where NO alternatives exist... to be unconscionable!

    We're hoping that SOME location CAN be designated,

maybe even with SOME amenities:  trash cans, a few pic-

nic tables, a few portable bathrooms, with sanitary services,

and some police visits daily.  (The right person designated

might even help to build up some trust--and head off further

deaths.)  This would be a positive approach--and the least

our caring community could do with winter coming on...

    What are our chances of getting this urgent topic on

the Agenda for Next Tues., Nov. 11???
