Lawrence, Kansas

WHEREAS:   The City of Lawrence calls upon all citizens to observe November 11^th, 2008 as Veterans Day in honor of those who have served, and are serving, in the Armed Forces of the United States to preserve the principles of Justice, Freedom, and Democracy; and

WHEREAS:   The City of Lawrence appreciates the employees who have served, or are currently serving, in the Armed Forces of the United States; and

WHEREAS:   We recognize the sacrifice and service these veterans and their families have made for our Country and community;

NOW, THEREFORE, I, Michael Dever, Mayor of the City of Lawrence, Kansas, do hereby urge all employers across the city to similarly recognize their employees who have served, or are serving, in the Armed Forces and ask all city employees to join me in honoring their service.
