2008 Overlay & Curb Repair Program, Phase 2 Project No. PW0809 - Final Change Order |
Please include the following item on the City Commission agenda for consideration at the October 28, 2008 meeting:
PROJECT DETAILS.
The 2008 Overlay Program, Phase 2 project is part of the city’s annual contracted pavement maintenance program. This contract included milling and overlaying Massachusetts Street from 1300 Block to 23rd Street, 19th Street from Massachusetts to Tennessee and from Alabama to Naismith, and Louisiana Street from 17th to 19th as part of the Base Bid. Alternate Bid milling and overlaying locations included Kansas from Montana to Utah, Montana from Kansas to Park Hill Terrace, Ohio from north of Dakota to Kansas, Oklahoma from Montana to Utah, Park Hill Terrace from Montana to Louisiana, and Vermont from 23rd to Montana. The Base Bid also included the construction of a raised crosswalk across Louisiana Street immediately south of the 18th and Louisiana intersection.
On July 22, 2008 the Commission approved milling and overlaying the eastbound lanes of W. 6th Street between Eldridge Street and Monterey Way. Additionally, the intersection at 20th and Kentucky was rebuilt and some additional milling work was completed for the Street Division on 17th Street (Louisiana to Kentucky) and Indiana (4th to 5th). Asphalt oil prices ranged from $520/ton to $870/ton during the course of the project which amounted to an asphalt price adjustment of $113,000.
Less base repair and total asphalt surface course were needed for the project.
PROJECT STATUS. Phase 2 is complete and the overall change order amount is $111,203.77. Staff had projected these additional costs and funds are available in Account #212-3000-570.60-30 and 214-3800-578-45.10.
ACTION REQUEST. Approve final change order with LRM Industries in an amount of $111,203.77 for Phase 2 Mill and Overlay Program.
Please let me know if there are any questions.
Respectfully Submitted,
