August 11, 2008 City Manager's Office PO Box 708 Lawrence, KS 66044-2268 Dear Mr. Corliss: As you may be aware, the Friends organization has been raising money to assist the library through used book sales for many years. One way in which we generate customers for this fundraiser is through yard signs. I am writing you to request permission for the Friends of the Lawrence Public Library to place these signs in the area around the library. These signs would be placed between 6^th and 9^th streets and between Massachusetts and Tennessee streets. We would place them on or after the morning of Friday, September 25 and remove them on or before the afternoon of Saturday, October 4. The Friends of the Lawrence Public Library is a non-profit organization that has given the Lawrence Public Library over $500,000 since 2000. We appreciate all the help you can give us in this matter.
