ORDINANCE NO. 8310
AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF LAWRENCE, KANSAS ENACTING SECTION 17-214 OF THE CITY CODE CONCERNING THE USE OF TRUCK DELIVERY ROUTES BY VEHICLES TRANSPORTING GRAIN TO A GRAIN ELEVATOR IN THE CITY LIMITS DURING HARVEST
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE GOVERNING BODY OF THE CITY OF LAWRENCE, KANSAS:
Section 1. Chapter 17, Article 2, Section 17-214 of the Code of the City of Lawrence, Kansas, 2008 Edition, and amendments thereto, is hereby enacted to read as follows:
17-214 Truck Delivery Routes; Use By Trucks Transporting Grain During Harvest.
Notwithstanding Section 17-212 of the City Code, as amended, any person, firm or corporation operating a truck, trailer, or semi-trailer with a registered gross vehicle weight in excess of 26,000 pounds may use truck delivery routes when operating said truck, trailer or semi-trailer for the purpose of transporting grain to or from a grain elevator in the city limits during the harvest season of the grain being transported.
Section 2. Severability. If any section, clause, sentence or phrase of this ordinance is found to be unconstitutional or is otherwise held invalid by any court of competent jurisdiction, it shall not affect the validity of any remaining parts of this ordinance.
Section 3. This ordinance shall take effect and be in force upon its passage and publication once in the official city newspaper, as provided by law.
