FERRIC CHLORIDE - UTILITIES DEPARTMENT – #B08060

Utilities Department requested bids for Ferric Chloride, a chemical used in the Actiflo process for wet weather treatment.  Our previous contractor defaulted on the 2008 contract requiring us to rebid for this product through the end of the year.

There was a tie between PVS Chemical and Kemira for low bid.  Both chemicals bid are exactly the same.  As in the past, when we receive a tie bid a coin is flipped by the City Clerk’s Office to determine the recommendation.  The coin toss was in Kemira Water Solutions’ favor.

This purchase was budgeted in the 2008 budgeting process.
