Information on proposed text amendment posted on City website

A staff report and proposed Development Code amendment regarding comprehensive homeless services have been posted to the Planning Division website at http://www.lawrenceplanning.org/bc-pcagendas.shtml. The materials are also attached here. This issue will be considered by the Planning Commission on July 21.   

 

Fire Medical and Police departments conduct alcohol management training

On Wednesday, July 9, the Lawrence Police Department, Alcoholic Beverage Control and Lawrence-Douglas County Fire Medical conducted training for the employees at Wayne and Larry’s Sports Bar. Information was provided on fake IDs and how to identify, penalties for allowing under age drinking, bar checks, the night consultant program, and emergency planning. Approximately 15 employees were present for the training that lasted roughly 60 minutes. A much larger program has been scheduled for August 24 from 3:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. at Abe and Jake’s for employees, servers and owners of Lawrence drinking establishments covering the same topics in more detail.

 

Enhanced online forms provide convenient ways to request city services

Cynthia Colbert, Human Relations Associate for the Legal Department’s Human Relations Division, recently converted intake forms used for discrimination complaints into online submission forms, making the process of submitting information for complaints easier for web site visitors.

 

The city’s web page also has added a “Request a City Service” page, providing web site visitors ways to request help with the following topics:
