A RESOLUTION REPEALING RESOLUTIONS 6663, 6665, 6739 AND 6740 PERTAINING TO IMPROVEMENT DISTRICTS CREATED PURSUANT TO GENERAL IMPROVEMENT AND ASSESSMENT LAW, K.S.A 12-6a01 ET SEQ.
WHEREAS, the Governing Body of the City of Lawrence, Kansas adopted Resolution 6663 on May 15, 2007 making findings and determinations to construct improvements from the intersection of 6th Street south along George Williams Way to Ken Ridge Drive; and
WHEREAS, the Governing Body of the City of Lawrence, Kansas adopted Resolution 6665 on May 15, 2007 making findings and determinations to construct improvements from the intersection of 6th Street north along George Williams Way to Overland Drive; and
WHEREAS, Governing Body of the City of Lawrence, Kansas adopted Resolution 6739 on September 25, 2007 making findings and determinations to construct improvements from 6th Street north along George Williams Way to Overland Drive. Resolution 6739 was adopted to reduce the scope of the improvements authorized by Resolution 6665; and
WHEREAS, Governing Body of the City of Lawrence, Kansas adopted Resolution 6740 on September 25, 2007 making findings and determinations to construct improvements for the intersection of 6th Street and George Williams Way; and
WHEREAS, the Governing Body of the City of Lawrence, Kansas hereby finds and determines it to be advisable to repeal the findings made in Resolutions 6663, 6665, 6739 and 6740 as to the proposed improvements, the general nature of the proposed improvements; the estimated or probable cost of the proposed improvements; the extent of the proposed improvement districts to be assessed for the cost of the proposed improvements; the proposed method of assessment; and the proposed apportionment of the cost between the improvement districts and the City at large.
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE GOVERNING BODY OF THE CITY OF LAWRENCE, KANSAS:
Section 1. The above stated recitals are by reference incorporated herein, and shall be as effective as if repeated verbatim.
Section 2. That the Governing Body hereby repeals previously adopted Resolutions 6663, 6665, 6739 and 6740. The real estate affected by such resolutions is legally described as follows:
