RE:	Appointments to Boards and Commissions

I recommend the following individuals for the appointments listed below. I have included phone numbers, if available. Please feel free to call any of them to discuss their potential appointments. I believe they are willing to answer your questions or receive any comments you might have.

Board of Electrical Examiners and Appeals:

Appoint Mel Lisher (766.3319) to the vacant position held by Jeff Oliver and Tom Cox (785.241.3657) to the vacant position held by Jeff Hardie. Both terms will expire 03/31/11.

Douglas County Community Corrections Advisory Board:

Appoint Verdell Taylor and Milton Scott (842.8110) to fill the positions held by Bonnie Augustine and Willie Amison. Mr. Taylor’s and Mr. Scott’s terms will expire 05/31/10.

ECO2:

Appoint Joyce Wolf (887.6019) to fill the unexpired position held by RoxAnne Miller, which expires 06/30/12 (the position expires 06/30/08, but the appointment will extend to include her first full term and expire 06/30/12.) Reappoint Trudy Rice (843.7058) to an additional term that will expire 06/30/12.

Public Library Board:

Appoint Joan Golden to fill the vacant position, which expires 04/30/12.

Public Transit Advisory Committee:

Appoint Derek Meier (864.4644) to the position vacated by May Davis. This position is typically held by a representative from KU on Wheels. Mr. Meier’s position will expire 12/31/10.

Mental Health Board:

Appoint Ken McGovern to fill the position vacated by Rick Trapp, which expires 04/30/09.
