RE:	May 27, 2008 Agenda Item Set Bid Date – George Williams Way Street Construction project Project 14-CP4-407(BD), GWW, 6^th Street to Overland Drive Project 15-CP5-407(BD), GWW, Overland Drive to North City Limits

Please include the following item on the City Commission agenda for consideration at the May 27, 2008 meeting:

Project Details: The project includes the construction of George Williams Way from 6^th Street to the north city limits, including streets, sidewalks, multi-use paths, storm sewer, and waterline improvements.

Plans and specifications for this project are complete and the project is ready for bid letting.

All necessary right of way and easement documents have been executed by the appropriate property owners.

Project Schedule: This project is on schedule at this time. Construction will begin this summer shortly after the contract is signed between the city and the lowest responsible bidder. Depending on weather conditions, this project is expected to be completed within about 9 months after starting construction.

Project Funding: The improvements are funded through benefit district financing with the city participating up to a maximum of $200,000.

Action Request: Request approval from the City Commission to set bid date of June 24, 2008 for City Bid No. B08055: Project No. 14-CP4-407(BD) - GWW, 6^th Street to Overland Drive, and Project No. 15-CP5-407(BD) - GWW, Overland Drive to North City Limits.
