Lawrence, Kansas

WHEREAS: The Lawrence community has had the honor for fifty years to be home to Hallmark Cards, Inc. Lawrence Production Center; and

WHEREAS: Hallmark Cards has made a positive impact on our community as a valuable employer and generous community supporter; and

WHEREAS: The fiftieth anniversary of Hallmark Cards’ Lawrence Production Center provides us an opportunity to recognize the commitment that Hallmark has made to Lawrence; and

WHEREAS: We can demonstrate our sincere appreciation of a company best known for greeting cards, and locally best known as a leader in JOB GROWTH, community support and that has set a standard of excellence. We also recognize the work of many individuals that have been vital in achieving this success; and

WHEREAS: We celebrate a momentous accomplishment by Hallmark Cards and we voice our support. Lawrence is fortunate to be home to Hallmark Cards, Inc. Lawrence Production Center, an important element for a prosperous future for Lawrence;

NOW, THEREFORE, I, Michael Dever, Mayor of the City of Lawrence, Kansas, do hereby proclaim Wednesday, May 28 as

“HALLMARK APPRECIATION DAY”

in Lawrence and encourage all citizens to salute this local business and its employees for their outstanding contributions and to join in this important observance.
