FOUR (4) 35 YARD REFUSE COMPACTORS – #B08040

Public Works Solid Waste requested bids for four (4) 35 yard refuse compactors. The roll-off side of the Solid Waste business has continued to increase in demand. The division has been working with high volume producers on efficient collection methods for their business or schools. The division needs to acquire 4 additional compactor containers to meet the service demands. The units cost is re-couped through monthly rental rates to the businesses.

The City has standardized on the Texoma Waste Control compactors. When standardized we can stock less parts and parts are interchangeable. At this time we have approximately 20 of these units. The bid required a Texoma Waste Control compactor.

The low bid from JVMfg/Cram-A-Lot did not bid a Texoma Waste Control compactor. Their unit is slightly smaller, cycle time is slower and the parts are not interchangeable. The bids from Roy Conley and Downing Sales & Service did bid a Texoma Waste Control compactor.

This purchase was approved in the 2008 budgeting process.
