RECYCLING AND TRASH
CONTAINERS
120 two
cubic yard containers ($410.00 each FOB)
40
three cubic yard containers ($648.00 each FOB)
The
containers are needed to provide service to new customers and to replace
containers that no longer are repairable and should be adequate inventory to
meet demands into the next year. The
containers are generally purchased from one of three vendors in the area since
these vendors provide containers of good quality that meet our specifications,
and are able to provide a lower cost per container because of short shipping
distances. Freight costs are a
significant component of container purchases. In addition, standardization is
more efficient for maintenance operations.
Going
out for bids for containers is almost impossible at this time due to the
rapidly rising cost of steel and shipping.
Therefore most vendors will not hold their prices. Presently, it is necessary to contact vendors
for current prices. The vendor that
provided the lowest quote will hold his price for three weeks.
