BLIGHT MOWING - PLANNING & DEVELOPMENT SERVICES DEPARTMENT – #B08035

Planning & Development Services/Code Enforcement requested bids for mowing of blighted properties throughout the City. The Division enforces the City’s Weed Code (City Code, Chapter 18, Article 3). The general process for enforcement is as follows:

1) Inspect and verify a code violation exists;

2) Send Notice of Violation;

3) Re-inspect property and if the property remains in violation, we contract to have the violation removed (weeds/grass cut);

4) Inspect to confirm the property was mowed;

5) Receive invoice from contractor, pay contractor;

6) Process an invoice to the property owner of record.* 

*For invoices not paid, the charges are placed as a special assessment on the property taxes for the property that had the violation(s).

The bid was written as a one year agreement with the option to renew for two additional years.

Award bid for a one year period with the option to renew for two additional years for basic mowing to Richard Nichols for $40.00 an hour, for Brush hog mowing to La-Bar Mowing Service for $45.00 an hour for the Planning & Development Services Department, Code Enforcement.
