Please include the referenced items on the City Commission
consent agenda for consideration at the April 15, 2008 meeting:
Project Description/Status. State highways that enter the City
limits are referred to as “Connecting Links”.
The State offers funding assistance up to a maximum of $200,000 through
the KLINK (Kansas Connecting Link) Program for major maintenance projects, such
as mill and overlay, on the state highways. Funding is obtained through
application. The City applies annually.
Project History. Recent projects have included the following.

Project Details. This
year the identified project is the mill and overlay of
Project Funding. The estimated project cost is $650,000. A total of $450,000 for the annual KLINK project is included in the 2008 CIP for the City’s share of the cost. The City’s share has historically been paid for with General Obligation Bonds.
Action Request. Two separate actions are requested for this project. The agreement for consideration accepts KDOT’s participation of a maximum of $200,000. The second resolution authorizes general obligation bonds for the city’s share of the project costs.
