Re: Sign placement in City Right of Way

The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, located at 3655 West 10^th Street, is planning a Free Community Emergency Preparedness Fair to be held on Saturday, May 3, 2008 from 9:00am to 1:00pm. We wish to ask the Commission for permission to place two (2) signs on the City right-of-way, in the median, at 10^th and Kasold, north and southbound on Kasold, so participants and attendees will know where to turn off of Kasold to find the event. The dimensions of the signs are approximately 3 feet by 4 feet and constructed of cardboard or plastic, and will be fastened to the ground. We would ask that we be allowed to place the signs in the right-of-way beginning at 5:00pm on Friday, May 2^nd, to guide those who will be participants arriving very early the next morning to set up booths. We plan to remove the signs by 2pm on Saturday, May 3^rd, following the conclusion of the event.

We cordially invite the Commission to attend the event that is open to the entire community. KMBC TV9 Chief Meteorologist Bryan Busby will be a keynote speaker, and Douglas County Emergency Responders will be available with displays. Thank you for your kind attention to this request.
