Re: |
Fire Safety House Rehab Community Grant |
|
|
Background:
Our Fire Safety
House was purchased in 1998 as a Public Education tool to enhance the education
of our community on home safety and proper emergency exiting procedures in the
event of fire. This mobile training device visits all of USD 497’s elementary
schools annually. In addition, it is displayed at City/Department events and
utilized by several visiting school classes from area communities each year.
The Safety House
was originally sided with a vinyl siding and surface applied decals. Since this
unit has been necessarily stored outside until recently, the vinyl siding and
decals have become weathered and damaged.
Community Grant:
First Management,
Inc has agreed to purchase and install new metal siding on the exterior of the
Safe House at an estimated cost of $3,000.
The city will
provide appropriate exterior FM, Inc Logos and City/Department Logo to reflect
the community partnership. It is
estimated that the City’s cost will be $1,500.
Action
Requested:
Authorize the City
Manager to enter into an agreement with First Management, Inc for a community
grant for the purpose of the Fire Medical Departments Safety House residing.
