One (1) Roll-off refuse Truck – Public Works Department – #B08007

Public Works Solid Waste requested bids for one roll-off refuse truck. Solid Waste equipment is replaced according to our equipment replacement schedule. The equipment replacement schedule is based on age, mileage, hours of use, and cost of maintenance and upkeep.

Solid Waste has a roll-off truck that meets the criteria for replacement. American Equipment and Roy Conley & Company both submitted two bids. The difference in the bids were the make of the chassis, however they were not the low bid. The low bid from Diamond International of Kansas City offered $45,000 for the trucks as a trade in price. We have been monitoring comparable trucks on Gov Deals and find they have been selling for between $43,000 and $45,000 each. This purchase was approved in the 2008 budgeting process.
