Attached for City Commission consideration is Ordinance
8239. The ordinance enacts Chapter
5, Article 19 – Underground Wiring Districts.
Ordinance
8240 enacts Chapter 5, Article 20 – Siting of Utility Facilities. These code provisions were previously part of
Chapter 5, Articles 4A and 4B respectively, of the Code of the City of
Chapter 5 – “Building and Construction” was amended in September 2007 in Ordinance 8180 to incorporate the International family of codes, with amendments. Ordinance 8180 became effective January 1, 2008. The above articles were inadvertently omitted from Ordinance 8180. Ordinance 8239 and 8240 returns the articles (unmodified) to Chapter 5. There are no substantive changes to these articles from their previous presence in the code.
Action Recommended:
Staff recommends adopting Ordinance 8239 and Ordinance 8240.
