RE: Downtown Lawrence, Inc. 2008 Agreement

Please include the following item on the consent agenda for the February 19, 2008 City Commission meeting:

Authorize the City Manager to sign the 2008 Agreement with Downtown Lawrence, Inc.

Background. During the 2008 budget process, the City Commission authorized $47,000 to be provided to Downtown Lawrence, Inc. The funding will be utilized to accomplish the items set forth in their 2008 Work Plan, which is referenced in the agreement. The DLI Board has executed the agreement.

Staff will be working to schedule a future study session for the City Commission with Downtown Lawrence, Inc. to discuss issues of mutual interest.

Action Requested. Authorize the City Manager to execute the agreement with Downtown Lawrence, Inc.
