ONE (1) ROTARY MOWER FOR YSI –
B08003
The Parks
and Recreation Department requested bids for a new rotary mower for YSI. The mower will be used to maintain the
facility consisting of 15 soccer fields, 5 football fields, 4 softball fields,
and approximately 15 acres of common areas.
The low bid, Turf Professionals Equipment Co. offered $5,500 as trade in
for the present mower, a 2002 Toro with high
hours and maintenance costs. Similar
mowers, although smaller, are selling on Ebay and Gov Deals for between
$1,686.00 and $3,850.00. We feel that
$5,500 is a reasonable trade in price for the use it has had and its condition.
We
requested a price for a three year lease.
The low bid from Turf Professional Equipment Co.’s lease price is $11,950.41;
total for the three years is $35,851.23. At the end of the lease period the City will
own the equipment with no additional payments.
This purchase was budgeted in the 2008 budgeting process.
