Please include the following item on the City Commission consent agenda for consideration at the January 22, 2008 meeting:
BACKRGROUND. In April
2004 the city was awarded an Economic Development Grant from KDOT for
consolidation of access points along
Originally the plan was to be one project that would affect some thirty access points. Negotiations with adjacent businesses started well but details were never finalized.
The state has been working with staff as opportunities present themselves with smaller, single/dual access consolidation projects using the grant funds. Two projects have been completed with the development of the Long John Silver restaurant and the recent CVS Pharmacy. In order for the city to be reimbursed for 75% of construction costs for the CVS/El Mezcal Mexican Restaurant project the attached Supplemental Agreement is needed. It basically reiterates the responsibilities of the city and state as established by the original Economic Development Grant.
Total CVS project costs: $21,240. KDOT reimbursement: $15,930. City cost: $5,310.
