Scott Zaremba
Dear Mr. Zaremba:
Last fall (2007) the city’s
Engineering staff met with you to discuss possible future improvements at the
intersection of 9th and Iowa. This intersection is very congested and
unique. As vehicles approach the
intersection on Iowa
from the south there is a “spur” for motorists to take east to 9th Street. City staff discussed that when improvements
are made to the Iowa/9th
Street intersection one option would be to trade/swap
the right-of-way of this spur for property adjacent to the intersection. This option would be mutually beneficial to
the city and adjacent property owners providing both parties additional space
to make improvements.
No commitments have been made as
to the nature of the improvements or possible schedules.
If you have additional questions,
please contact Charles F. Soules, Director of Public Works, 832-3124.
Sincerely,
David L. Corliss
City Manager
