ORDINANCE NO. 8222

AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF LAWRENCE, KANSAS, CONCERNING THE REGULATION OF SWIMMING POOLS, ADOPTING RULES AND REGULATIONS PURSUANT TO CHAPTER 5, SECTION 1402 OF THE CODE OF THE CITY OF LAWRENCE, KANSAS, 2008 EDITION AND AMENDMENTS THERETO.

WHEREAS, Pursuant to Chapter 5, Section 5-1402 of the Code of the City of Lawrence, Kansas, the Health Department shall have the power to adopt rules and regulations pertaining to the regulation of swimming pools; and

WHEREAS, On December 17, 2007, the Board of Health of the Lawrence-Douglas County Health Department adopted rules and regulations for consideration by the Governing Body of the City of Lawrence.

BE IT ORDAINED BY THE GOVERNING BODY OF THE CITY OF LAWRENCE, KANSAS:

Section 1.  Pursuant to Chapter 5, Article 14, Section 5-1402 – Rules and Regulations.

The Governing Body of the City of Lawrence hereby approves the rules and regulations adopted by the Board of Health of the Lawrence-Douglas County Health Department on December 17, 2007 pursuant to the Chapter 5, Section 5-1402 of the Code of the City of Lawrence, Kansas.  Said rules and regulations are attached hereto as Exhibit A and incorporated as if fully set forth herein.

Section 2.     A copy of the Rules and Regulations adopted herein shall be filed with the office of the City Clerk.

Section 3.  This ordinance shall be effective on and after its publication as provided by law.
