ONE (1) TRUCK WITH MOUNTED WATER JET SYSTEM – UTILITIES DEPARTMENT – B07075
The Utilities Department is requesting to buy a truck mounted with a high pressure sewer cleaner. The collection system has grown significantly and with the additional jet truck, the Line Maintenance Division will be able to devote 2 jet trucks full time to the preventive maintenance program and Section Cleaning program. The addition of the jet truck will improve customer service, increase productivity and contribute to increased sewer main maintenance activity. The older jet truck currently in the fleet will be used by the TV Inspection crew and it will also be used for other cleaning functions. We requested bids from eight vendors however received only one bid. The truck and jetter system was approved in the 2008 Wastewater Collection System budget for $180,000. If the purchase is approved the purchase order will not be processed until after the first of the year.
