Lawrence, Kansas

WHEREAS:       The City of Lawrence has stated its goal to develop bicylce facilities, awareness, educational programs, and bicycle use as transportation and recreation; and

WHEREAS:       The Lawrence/Douglas County Bicycle Advisory Committee, since 1995, has served to guide and advise the City and County Commissions on these important bicycle related matters; and

WHEREAS:       Officer Trent McKinley of the Lawrence Police Department has served two consecutive terms for a period of eight years on the Bicycle Advisory Committee; and

WHEREAS:       Officer Trent McKinley, with wisdom, enthusiasm, and insight has contributed far more to the advancement of the City’s bicycling goals than can be described herein; and

WHEREAS:       The Bicycle Advisory Committee and the City wish to express their gratitude and admiration for his years of service;

NOW, THEREFORE, I, Sue Hack, Mayor of the City of Lawrence, Kansas, do hereby recognize Officer Trent McKinley for his years of service on the Bicycle Advisory Committee.
