RE:              Issues for Follow-Up from Oread Neighborhood Association Study Session

 

The City Commission held a Study Session on November 7, 2007 with the Oread Neighborhood Association.  The Oread Neighborhood Association had a variety of issues to discuss with the City Commission, centering on the issues of housing, parties and blight.  Following is a listing of the items discussed at the meeting, along with suggested follow-up action.

Staff will report on the options provided during budget discussions.

Demolition by Neglect

Research by staff currently underway.

Increased Law Enforcement presence in Oread related to noise/parties

Police are aware of the issues in the neighborhood and are compiling statistics regarding responses to the neighborhood and preparing a cost estimate for enhanced presence in the area.

NRO’s to neighborhood association meeting

Staff is working on scheduling this.

Overlay Ordinance research

Staff will research possibility of an overlay district.

Status of homeless shelter/UPR

This item needs to be scheduled for a future City Commission agenda.

Report on BZA variances

Staff is preparing a report examining the parking issues over the last couple of years.

Trash – accelerated pick up

Staff will research alternatives to current trash ordinance.
