Lawrence, Kansas

WHEREAS:       The University of Kansas Student Senate works to make students aware of their community; and

WHEREAS:       The Student body is part of the Lawrence community and works to make Lawrence a better place; and

WHEREAS:       Student Senate works to further student involvement in the political process; and

WHEREAS:       Civic Engagement is a very important part of being a citizen in Lawrence;

NOW, THEREFORE, I, Sue Hack, Mayor of the City of Lawrence, Kansas, do hereby proclaim the week of October 21-27, 2007, to be

“CIVIC ENGAGEMENT WEEK”
